About CrunchLabs & Class CrunchLabs

Class CrunchLabs is the educational arm of CrunchLabs, a company founded by Mark Rober, a former NASA engineer and one of the most influential science communicators in the world. With over 70 million YouTube subscribers and billions of views, Mark Rober is known for his creative, entertaining videos that make science engaging, accessible, and fun for audiences of all ages.

Class CrunchLabs brings Mark’s passion for science into classrooms by developing free, high-quality, NGSS-designed instructional materials for grades 3-8. The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are a set of K-12 science standards designed to prepare students for real-world challenges through critical thinking, problem-solving, and the integration of Science and Engineering Practices (SEP), Crosscutting Concepts (CCC), and Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCI).

Our mission is to inspire a love for science in students by combining rigorous STEM curriculum with practical hands-on activities and Mark Rober’s video storytelling style. As a product manager on the Class CrunchLabs team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to this exciting, high-profile initiative and help shape the future of science education by creating high-quality instructional materials that engage teachers and students in meaningful, inquiry-based learning.

About the Role

As a Product Manager, Learning Experience, at Class CrunchLabs, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the online learning journey for teachers and students nationwide. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of CrunchLabs.org, you will take ownership of the end-to-end design and management of our teaching and learning platform, ensuring it delivers a seamless, engaging, and effective experience. From defining project scope and milestones to aligning cross-functional teams, you’ll guide initiatives that bring innovative teaching and learning tools to life, on schedule and within budget.

A key focus of this role is designing an intuitive platform that leverages data to inform curriculum development, instruction, and enhance student engagement. You will thrive in ambiguity as you connect the dots between the data from our platform, industry trends, and third party partnerships to build impactful solutions that empower both educators and learners. This role requires you to use AI to magnify your impact and involves daily management of our external development agency.

You will thrive in this position if you excel in dynamic, iterative environments and are passionate about transforming complex challenges into elegant, impactful solutions that empower both educators and learners. This role involves daily management of our external development agency.

What you’ll own

  1. End-to-end learner journey and analytics reporting: Integrate written curriculum (teacher guides/slide decks), videos, classroom activities, and teacher/student inputs with adaptive AI, performance tracking, educator/admin analytics, and product development insights.

  2. AI in the learning loop: Incorporate modern AI tools to provide adaptive hints, feedback, scaffolding, and teacher co-pilot features (e.g., quick regroup suggestions, rubric generation, auto-flagging of struggle). Do this responsibly (privacy, bias, provenance) and practically for classrooms.

  3. Research with kids, parents, and teachers: Design COPPA/FERPA-aware studies, as appropriate; turn insights into product decisions.

  4. Experience design: Flows, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes; partner with video, education, and engineering to make complex concepts feel simple and fun.

  5. Product management: Hypothesis-driven roadmaps, crisp PRDs, prioritization, delivery with Eng/Design/Content/Ops.

  6. Measurement & iteration: Instrument analytics, run A/Bs where appropriate, and ship improvements that move learning outcomes.

  7. Accessibility & inclusion: Ship experiences that meet WCAG 2.2 AA, align with UDL, and support diverse learners.

  8. Service design (physical + digital): Reduce friction across written curriculum, instructions, videos, community, and support.

What you’ve done (great folks come from many paths)

  • Core experience: 6+ years in Product Management and/or UX for learning products, games, or edtech; shipped 0→1 and scaled 1→n.

  • Outcomes: Strong portfolio showing research → insight → design → shipped impact (2–3 case studies).

  • Analytics fluency: Defined metrics, built or partnered to ship dashboards (Amplitude/GA4; SQL/BigQuery a plus). We are a data-driven company.

  • Learning science & pedagogy: Comfortable applying retrieval practice, spaced repetition, mastery-based progress, formative assessment; you design adaptable experiences for individual learners.

  • AI experience: Practical track record of managing integrations of LLMs/AI into product workflows (prompting, evaluation, guardrails, data privacy).

  • Tools: Figma (or other design platforms), Content Management Systems, Asana, Optimizely/Growthbook (or other AB testing platforms).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience launching or piloting products in classrooms, schools, or districts

  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, rostering, and SSO systems (e.g., Google Classroom, Clever, ClassLink)

  • Background in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility, or instructional content design

  • Experience building or supporting products that serve learning communities (students, teachers, parents, or schools)

  • Knowledge of AI evals and programming

How we work

  • Small, senior, hands-on team; prototype fast, test with real kids/teachers, ship frequently.

  • Tight collaboration across Video, Education, Product, and Ops—we design the experience, not just the screens.

  • Bias to clarity: short PRDs, lo-fi first, decision logs, measurable bets.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.

  • Benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, lunch in office Mon-Thu.

  • Flexible work schedule with remote work opportunities.

  • The opportunity to work on a high-profile program led by Mark Rober. Mark’s unique approach combines rigorous STEM education with creativity, storytelling, and hands-on learning to captivate students worldwide.

  • The chance to collaborate with a passionate, innovative team committed to creating high-quality instructional materials that will inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
